Abstract: Method describe an efficient synthesis of cycloalkenopyridine derivatives using aromatic aldehyde, cyclic ketone and ammonium acetate in presence of heterogeneous catalyst cellulose sulfuric acid under solvent free conditions. The catalyst was able to catalyze reaction for various aromatic aldehydes to provide excellent yields for products. The present protocol gives several advantages such as green reaction conditions, easy work-up, easy separation of catalyst and reusability of catalyst.
